Skyjack Showcases New Hybrid-Electric Articulating Boom at 2025 JDL Expo in France
POSTED September 15, 2025
September 15, 2025; Linamar Corporation’s (TSX-LNR) Skyjack division is showcasing its new hybrid-electric rough terrain articulating boom line at the 2025 JDL Expo in Beaune, France, from September 17 to 19. Visitors are invited to connect with the Skyjack team and get first-hand experience with the new SJ45 AJHE+ articulating boom that has been developed to provide a clean, quiet, sustainable rental solution with no emissions, lower operating costs, and increased utilization.
“We look forward to engaging with customers and showing exactly how Skyjack’s quality engineered units can benefit rental companies and operators,” said Patrick Biasin, Skyjack’s Sales Manager for France. “Our new range of hybrid-electric articulating booms are designed to offer precise positioning capability, high-capacity flexibility, and electric-power functionality on ever-changing indoor and outdoor jobsites, including in tight spaces and on rough terrain.”
The SJ45 AJHE+ offers a 15.7 m (51 ft) working height, capacities up to 454 kg (1000 lbs) supported with integrated load sensing technology, a 3 person work platform, and high performance AC electric traction and pump motors that deliver high torque power and consistent multi-function capability. Sustainable on-board charging is provided by a 24.8 hp diesel engine that is HVO compatible providing a fossil-free alternative fuel with over 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to regular diesel. The SJ45 AJHE+’s machine weight is only 5,685 kg (12,533 lbs), which is beneficially light within the hybrid-electric class, helping save energy and costs, and enhancing manoeuvrability. This lower footprint can be particularly appreciated when in operation indoors.
The SJ45 AJHE+ features high-efficiency AXLDRIVETM, which provides a true mechanical four-wheel drive system, with an oscillating steer axle and manually controlled rear locking differential for superior traction and up to 45% gradeability. This industry-leading terrain capability means one can use Skyjack boom lifts in the most challenging of conditions. EASYDRIVETM is an intuitive direction sensing function that allows the machine to move in the general direction of the joystick’s movement in accordance with the orientation of the turret’s counterweight over the chassis. SKYRISER™ technology ensures that the riser and main pivot point connecting the fly boom to the riser travel in a straight vertical line. Movement in a true vertical manner, without drifting forward or back, reduces the amount of repositioning the operator needs to do in order to stay close to a building facade, improving productivity. Bolt-in modular platform railings provide a durable structure and are simple and cost-effective to replace and service. The coloured and numbered wiring system is SKYCODEDTM for easy troubleshooting and maintenance. An onboard digital diagnostic display allows operators to see real-time, simple language readouts and load-sensing information.
At the 2025 JDL Expo, Skyjack will also showcase a lineup of simply reliable mobile elevating work platforms, like the SJ12 E vertical mast, the SJ3219 E electric scissor lift, the SJ9243 RT rough terrain scissor lift, and ACCESSORYZERSTM like the XStep and Material Handling Stand.
