Skyjack Team Member Shows Support for Cancer Council of Australia

POSTED May 21, 2019

May 21, 2019; Guelph, Ontario – Linamar Corporation’s (TSX:LNR) Skyjack division has partnered with leading Australian company Crane Access for a week-long road trip through the outback in support of Cancer Council Australia. To date the team, 19ft High Club, has raised over $55,000 and is aiming for a total of $80,000 by the October 19th event.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support that we’ve received so far. Our first donation was pledged back in January and we’re already over the halfway point for our goal,” said Jason Cranmer, sales and operations director for Skyjack Australia.

“The Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) has also offered to back our team and provided us with space in the foyer where we can promote this event at the upcoming HIRE19 Conference in Melbourne.”

Skyjack’s Jason Cranmer and Crane Access owner Casey Law have purchased a 2010, Mitsubishi L300 Express Van with over 400,000 kms on the clock and have remodeled it to mirror a scissor lift . The main event takes place October 19-25, 2019 and spans 3,800 km travelling from Melbourne, Victoria through New South Wales, Birdsville in Queensland, and finishing in Townsville. The event is aptly named Shitbox Rally as all vehicles used for seven-day journey must be worth $1,000 or less.

“We wanted this to be more than just about our two companies and have reached out to other hire, rental companies and OEMs in the industry,” explains Casey Law, owner at Crane Access. “We’re in such a tight-knit industry and it’s amazing to see our suppliers, team members, and even competitors step up to the plate and pledge our team for this event.”

The Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) has offered a space at their annual conference HIRE19 where Cranmer and Law can promote their team and generate more awareness for the event. Cranmer will be on-site at HIRE19 Stand 075 promoting new products from Skyjack and is happy to answer any questions about the event.
