Skyjack Extends Support to Local Charities: There’s More Than Just One Season of Giving

POSTED December 19, 2018

December 19, 2018; Guelph, Ontario – Linamar Corporation’s (TSX:LNR) Skyjack division is known as a global manufacturer that brings people and materials safely to height. Behind the aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and telematics is a company who is truly passionate about supporting their local communities worldwide. Skyjack contributes to charitable organizations throughout the year for a January to December season of giving.

“Skyjack offices across the globe contribute to organizations like United Way, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, the Canadian Cancer Society, Toys for Tots, and more,” explains Chantal Theoret, global marketing and communications manager at Skyjack. “Giving back is an important part of Skyjack’s culture and our donations span throughout the year.”

In 2018 alone, Skyjack contributed in-kind machine rentals to Habitat for Humanity, local hospitals, rotary clubs, all helping projects and events for their local communities. The team based in Guelph, Ontario supported the Heart and Stroke’s Big Bike Ride raising over $5,000, and their Run for A Cure team and Pink the Rink event raised over $3,700 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

International offices are also doing their part. Skyjack’s St. Charles, Illinois participates in an annual Toys for Tots campaign and supports their local minor league baseball team. Their office in Germany has also partnered with a long-term customer, KFR Mietlifte GmbH, to provide a monetary donation to Lebenshilfe Munster to help with their housing solutions. The Germany-based association provides space, support, and guidance for people and families with disabilities.

“Our largest contributions by far are to the United Way, as it’s a central source for so many great programs worldwide,” explains Theoret. “The campaign is championed by our HR team and, through various raffles, and pulls for pledges throughout the year, we raised over $56,000 in 2018.”
