SKYJACK’S SIMPLY RELIABLE AWPS ON DISPLAY AT PLATFORMERS’ DAYS

Skyjack division will be showcasing the SJ86 T, the largest telescopic boom in its current range, along with many of the company’s Simply Reliable aerial work platforms, at the Roter Platz area during Platformers’ Days in Hohenroda, Germany, from Sept. 11 to 12.

“We are looking forward to Platformers’ Days, especially since the venue makes it easy to provide demos on our equipment, such as the SJ86 T, which has an impressive 28m working height and 23m horizontal outreach,” said Andreas Stumpf, sales manager for Skyjack in northern Germany. “The event is an important tradeshow for our industry and is also a great opportunity to connect with our friends and customers.”

The SJ86 T telescopic boom with jib made its European debut earlier this year at Intermat, Paris. AFI Rent, an access rental company headquartered in Hamburg, purchased the first SJ86 T in Europe earlier this year and says investing in new machines has helped it expand its customer base.

Impressive platform capacity and dual-capacity ratings makes the SJ86 T a great addition to any fleet. The model features a 0.91 m x 2.44 m platform and have an unrestricted platform capacity of 227 kg. Restricted platform capacity on the SJ86 T is 341 kg. The default is restricted capacity. Lights on the control boxes on the base and platform indicate which zone operator can be in. Once the platform reaches the restricted area, the amber light flashes to notify the operator they have reached the limit of the restricted area. The operator then must switch the toggle to the restricted capacity before moving into that zone.

DC Electric Scissors
From the DC electric range, two machines will be on display, the SJIII 3219 and the SJIII 4632. The DC electric range is designed for use on level floors in industrial or commercial locations, and offer zero emissions and silent operation. The SJIII 3219 has a maximum working height of 7.79 m. An industry-leading platform capacity of 227 kg allows for a wide variety of installation and maintenance tasks. The SJIII 3219is the world’s best-selling scissor lift. The SJIII 4632 has a working height of 11.75 m. and an overall platform capacity of 317 kg.

SJ 6832 RTE
Also highlighted at the show is the SJ 6832 RTE, which combines the class-leading benefits of its diesel powered counterpart with a powerful and efficient electric engine, allowing users to easily switch between indoor and outdoor use. The rough-terrain scissor lift is the only machine in its class with 45% gradeability and four-wheel drive as standard. The SJ 6832 RTE can handle a maximum capacity of 454 kg and offers a maximum working height of 11.75 m.

SJ63 AJ
To go with the largest unit from Skyjack’s range of scissor lift platforms, the company will also show its largest articulating boom, the SJ63 AJ. With a working height of 21.38 m, a horizontal reach of 12.19 m and up-and-over clearance of 8.38 m the platform gives the operator plenty of flexibility for varying the working positions.

The SJ63 AJ is the only articulating platform in this class with an open center knuckle riser, which gives the operator better visibility from the platform; allows for below-grade reach and also means that when folded for transport, the unit sits in a more compact package. Advanced boom geometry allows the unit to move from ground level to full height using only the single main boom control. As with other Skyjack models, the SJ 63AJ features SKYRISER™, which ensures the boom arm does not drift when rising.

Vertical Mast Lifts
Rounding out the product offering from Skyjack at Platformers’ Days will be the SJ12 and SJ16 vertical mast lifts. The compact and highly maneuverable units are hugely popular for a variety of industrial and commercial maintenance and service tasks. The zero-degree inside turning radius, allows the platform to maneuver in extremely small spaces – a very handy feature in busy or crowded work spaces. The SJ12 has a working height of 5.65 m. The SJ16 has a working height of 6.75 m. Platform capacity on both lifts is 227 kg, while stowed height and width are 1.79 m x 0.76 m, allowing the units to fit through standard door openings.

Safety first
As the world leader of mobile elevating work platforms, Skyjack will also showcase its the SG-M and SG-E secondary guarding systems, which offer customers the safety and protection they need in the event of a collision with external objects. The Skyjack SG-M system features a lightweight protective steel structure, designed to reduce the risk of the operator bring held against the controls in the event of an unintended collision. Alternatively, the Skyjack SG-E system features a sensor that, when pushed, instantly stops all functions, and initiates an audible siren and flashing beacon. Full functionality returns if the bar is released within one second; if the bar is not released the engine will automatically stop, halting all functions until reset.

Simply Reliable
All Skyjack machines are created around the company’s “Simply Reliable” design philosophy, so maintenance is made easy through the use of the company’s color-coded wiring system, while only well-proven and easy-to-maintain componentry is used in the manufacture of the platforms. While supplies last, visitors who register at the booth will also receive a limited edition of Skyjack’s Platformers’ Days t-shirt.
